Mount St. Helens erupted on May 18, 1980, and became the epicenter of an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale. The CDC funded, and assisted in a series of studies on the health effects of the Mt. Saint Helens volcanic eruption, which included the consequences of dust inhalation. In Nebraska the volcano blew up 10 million years ago.  It killed the horses of course!  They found the bones!  Some scientists discovered the dinosaur bones in 1978.

In Washington in 1980 the volcano went boom.  Miriam's dad saw it.  Novalee's grandpa was there on a hike on another mountain.  He saw it.  He had to cover his mouth.

Annie gets arrested because she was in the Olympic games.  She didn't know why she got arrested.  Girls were not allowed in the Olympic Games, or to watch them.  They didn't go to school, they weren't allowed in anything.  They only cleaned the kitchen.  There was a secret girl that wrote books because she taught herself how to write and read.

A big white horse with wings saved her.  His name was Pegasus.

The olympics started in 776 BC and they went to 394 AD.  The first modern olympics was held in Athens, Greece in 1896.

Rocks

Always wear goggles when chipping a rock.  Mineral crystals are formed from hot watery solutions inside the earth.  Wrap rocks in newspaper so it doesn't ruin the rock.

Nesting - Cat Pregnancy Signs [Slideshow]

Cat Pregnancy Signs [Slideshow]:

How to know if your cat is pregnant.

When your cat meows and meows for 2 weeks, they might be in heat.  If they get pregnant they will go out of heat.  When they are pregnant that means no more yowling.

Their nipples get bigger and dark pink.

The cat will follow you and sleep with you more often than they did before.  They will rub up against you more too.

It starts to loose its appetite and throws up for a few days.  Then it gets hungrier.

You can tell it's pregnant.

It looks for a place to lay it's babies.  Maybe in your drawers.
